Enjoy a day of barbecue, where you will have hands on instruction of how to prepare meats, and building your own secret spice blends. Learn how to use all kinds of cookers, even your kitchen oven. There will be $180 worth of spices setting on a table for you to build your secret blends.
All participating couples will receive a slab of ribs, and a chicken to prepare, smoke & take home to share and enjoy. A recipe Book by Bob, a jar of his special sauce are included.
The class will last from 8:00 A.M. to around 3:00 P.M. and at the end of the class you will have your cooked meat to enjoy at a later time. During the class the instructor (Bob Snelson) will furnish a barbecue lunch, consisting of Ribs, Chicken, Pork Butt, and Brisket, barbecue potato salad, and beans.
The cooking techniques will be the same as taught to competing barbecue cooks, on the Kansas City Barbecue Society contest circuit.
A little about the instructor, Bob has won two first place category awards at the American Royal Open Barbecue Contest in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1996 he won first place in Pork Ribs, and in 2001 he won first place in the Pork category. In both years there were over 550 teams competing.
